Webserver moved

Hello,

Yesterday we've moved our webserver from xlhost to netrouting.eu.
This is mainly because netrouting provides us the same service as xlhost, but charges less for it. The owner of the data centre of netrouting is a friend of maever, so he's cut a deal there.
The only drawback from this move could be for American users, because now the server is hosted in the Netherlands.
But nothing else has changed, the websites urls are still the same and the gameservers are still at xlhost.

Enjoy!

Yours sincerely,

Atari

Idea for a new game

Hello everyone,

In the previous topic I said we're looking for new game(s) for the network. One of the ideas proposed by Maever is: The Mana World.

The Mana World is a project that tries to create a free and open source MMORPG game with the looks of "old-fashioned" 2D RPG games such as those released for the SNES / Super Famicom in the 90's. The game client will continue to be free to download, and there won't be a monthly fee required.
The Mana World aims to be a unique place for people to interact by not only fighting but also forming a community, a microcosm inside the game. The game should include background information to give it the altern reality feel, i.e. history (currently being worked on), politics, culture, countries, tribes, climate, etc.
The player's story is built with quests and interaction. For this end, quests should lead to other quests. Quests should also encourage forming groups/parties so as to promote the community feel, therefore contributing to fulfil the objectives of the game.
Additionally, the developers care about cross compilable source code and efficient resource management in order to make the game playable on as many platforms and operating systems as possible. Low end hardware such as x86 PIIs or G3 PPCs should be the minimum requirement.

http://themanaworld.org/index.php

It's a small and funny addition to the Network.
Please tell us what you think.

Greetings,

Atari

Hey folks,

Its been a while since my last post.

I have a few short announcements to make concerning some of our projects.

Excalibur Gunz:

Its back and better then ever,
We opened up registrations again, I personally secured the gunz server properly.
Its now back online and it seems to be working great with a new client and new server files.
(though you will need to re-regiser, as all old account data was wiped).
We now offer more levels, more action and especially more guns!

Info/Download/Register:
http://exgunz.excalibur-nw.com

Sagramore:

For those of you who don't know what sagramore is,
Sagramore is an MMORPG that ExNW is developing.
This game relies on browser technology for gameplay but will still be a fully fledged interactive mmorpg.
The development on Sagramore has been going well and we believe to have an open-test server ready in a matter of weeks.

You can support this project by reading up on its development and discussing features in the forums.
(and adding your email to the mailing list)

Sagramore info:
http://www.sagramore.com

ExNW website:

Me and Borf are planning a major revamp of the Entire Excalibur Network Website.
We will offer many more features including Gamer's profiles, Clan sites, Game database and much more.
The new website will also exist around our newly bought domain exnw.com.
I will post more info as the concept of these new plans finalizes.
The general forums will be a lot easier to navigate and the gameservers themselves won't suffer.

Other Server projects:

We will also be working towards improving the general server quality and team effort of the ExNW staff.
You will find that our gameservers will become a lot more organized, customized & fun in the near future.
This won't affect the players themselves.

I will post more soon on the ExNW website,
in the meantime enjoy sagramore and the re-opened Exgunz server.

Welcome Excalibur Network fans

This is our new forum which we will be using from now on.
The reason we did this was for a couple of reasons.

One of them being that the old ones were hosted on a -ro.com domain.
Another advantage is that we now run a much newer version and will nolonger have spam bots.

We also added a couple of new sections, one of them being the 'RPG maker' section.
This section contains a free tool which you can use to make your very own RPG games with!
It should be worth checking out.

This forum being newer gives it a couple of new features too
You will all have to get used to it but luckily most stayed the same.

I wish you all allot of fun on our new forums.

have fun!
