[Ended] Best of the Best: Summer 2010 Edition, Show them your moves! Options

Wanna show you are the best of your class? Do you believe you are good enough to beat one of your kind? Show the server what you are capable of by joining this series of Best of the Best event!

Each weekend, beginning May 8, we will be hosting a Best of the Best Class for each class at AvalonRO.
Starting the month of June, Schedules will be edited to reflect recent change of conditions, please read this topic as well as the Event Schedule often to check for match times. Matches will still be announced at least 2 days in advance.

● This is a 1 vs 1 PvP Event.
● The winner of each battle will be the one who wins 2 out of 3 rounds.
● Battle conditions will be the same as a regular PvP event:

- Players cannot use Golden Thief Bug Cards.
- HP/SP recovery items are prohibited.
- Basilica, Kaziel, Teleportation, Warp Portal, and Resurrection are not allowed.
- Skills that consume HP/SP recovery items are prohibited too.
- Pokeballs, mercenaries, shape-shift boxes, bomb poring boxes, and pets are not allowed.
- You are not allowed to attack until battle beginning is announced or you will forfeit that specific round.
- Attacking other participants on purpose may result in your disqualification.
- You are not allowed to receive buffs from anyone else for your battle. You will be dispelled at the beginning of each set of battles.

● Spectators are welcome to this event and will be recalled before matches begin.

- If spectators fight outside battle or create any problem, they will be kicked from the event. Repeated behaviour may result in Jail time.

● If any round takes more than 5 minutes, suitable actions may be taken in order to determine a winner.
● More than one tournament may be held on the same day if conditions permits.



● Tournament beginning will be announced roughly 1 hour before it starts.
● Registration will go on for as long as necessary until no more eligible players show up (unlimited number of registrants).
● All participants will be recalled 5 minutes before the tournament begins. Be prepared, there is no "Send me back! I forgot my armor!" or "Can I go back to town? I ran out of EDP!".
● If you leave the map in the middle of the event, you will be disqualified.
● Do not bring prohibited items to the event (GTB, potions...). This will result in your disqualification.
● If anyone is missing, that character will be disqualified and his/her opponent will fight the next available opponent on the list.
● A warp for spectators will be placed at South Prontera while the participants are getting ready.
● Please make sure you are updated at all times. We have recently implemented a new map for the tournament and it is mandatory that you have the required files in order to participate or spectate.

If your patcher does not work, extract THESE files in your "data" folder under your RO diretory.



Prizes will be determined according performance so, give your best!
An additional mystery prize will be given to all first place winners once the event series is over. The same person cannot receive this prize more than once, and this item will bind to your character.
Your name posted on the "Hall of Fame" as the best of your class.






This calendar will be updated constantly with up-coming Best of the Best tournament dates.
This is only a temporary schedule. Greyed-out sprites indicate that a event date is UNCONFIRMED. Likewise, coloured sprites indicate a solid event date.
Dates marked in pink are holidays that reflect the majority of our server's population.

Are stat foods okay? I know some of them heal hp or sp, but are we allowed to use them before the round starts?

Yeah, priest pvp wont really end without coma unless there's no healing or something along those lines. the % hp at the end wont help either, because a priest will pretty much be stuck at full hp lol. Although coma would just make it a really lame battle, since gtb isn't allowed. It would be pure luck and equips rather than based on skill.

1. Stat food will be allowed as long as you use it before battle. If anyone use it during battle, he/she will lost that round.

2. There are other ways of stopping Coma, not just GTB. Plan well you strategy and equipment .

3. I once did a Last Man Stading, and the last two surviving players were 2 priests. The battle didn't lasted that long and they were able to kill each other without using any special equipment.

Lets see.. maybe I'm misinformed, but the only way to actually block coma in pvp is with gtb. Other than that, you have to dodge hits with pdodge, kyrie, or safety wall. This also means that it's suicide to melee someone wearing reflect+BoD. Any priest will be able to outheal firebolts or holy lights and the like. SW doesnt last too long and kyrie is canceled with holy light. Sooooo.... I dunno, I guess I just think it's gonna be a lame day on May 29th.

Also, if you're talking about the LMS I'm thinking of, the gms said that heal was no longer allowed halfway through the priest vs priest.

Well unless the coma thing is not working as intended it is "easy" to prevent it. Anyways, if someone thinks that Bathory stops it, well, it doesn't, it blocks Dark Blessing monster skill.

Yeah.. I've asked around, and looked around on google. The only way to block coma in pvp is with a gtb. Bathory will block it in mvp, and possibly druid too; Neither of these work in pvp. So.. unless there's some avalon custom that I dont know about, then gtb is the only way. Dx

Nope, nothing like that. Lets say an Assassin with 3 Kiels and 2 Megingjards registers and he wins just because of that and not because of skill... where is the effort in that? But, if a Clown wins because of a combination of Frost Joke, Tarot Card of Fate and Arrow Vulcan, THAT is a good battle and a good demonstration of skills.

I am not saying that people with many equipment will not deserve a good prize, I am saying they should demonstrate they know how to use their class and not win just for being rich.

Needs specific rules for linker, priest, and paladin fights. usualy those are nothing more than endless poking.

Also, any chance my taekwon ranker would be able to join star gladiator event?

MOST of pvp rules still apply! If you can you can do FPC, protect weapon or whatever else xp

About specific rules about sl/priets/paladins we will talk about it.
I know that some special rules are needed for those classes - however we didn't wanted to let you wait that long for the event since people really wanted it.
Any changes in rules will be updated asap and we will inform you about it in this topic and in game :3
